Gunmen Kill Former Rim Ward Councillor in Plateau, Injure Another Resident

Gunmen have killed Daniel Danjuma Chong, a former councillor representing Rim Ward in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack reportedly occurred in Torok, Rim community, on the night of August 2, 2026. David Dachollom Danjuma was also reportedly shot and injured during the invasion. The Berom Youth Moulders Association condemned the attack and called on security agencies and the Plateau State Government to arrest those responsible. The group also renewed its call for action against armed groups and criminal activity in the area.
