Tears and Gun Salutes as Nigeria Bids Farewell to Brig. Gen. Braimah and Other Fallen Heroes

Tears and Gun Salutes as Nigeria Bids Farewell to Brig. Gen. Braimah and Other Fallen Heroes

Grief hung heavy as Nigeria said its final goodbye to Brigadier General Omo Braimah, Captain Ismail and other soldiers who gave their lives in the line of duty at Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery in Maiduguri. Their coffins lay side by side, draped in the green-white-green. Military bugles sounded and gun salutes echoed across the grounds, a solemn testament to sacrifice. Mothers wept and wives clutched photographs. Children stood quietly as their fathers were lowered into the earth with full military honours. Top officials, including the Borno State governor and the Minister of Defence, joined senior officers to pay tribute. Prayers were offered for the repose of their souls, a reminder of the unseen battles fought daily by our armed forces.
