Tyre Burst Claims Four Lives, Injures Twelve on Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway
The Federal Road Safety Corps in Abia State has confirmed that a tyre burst caused a lone commercial bus to veer off the road at Nunya on the Abia end of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. The crash occurred around 2:10 p.m. and involved a white Nissan Caravan carrying 17 male passengers. Four men died—two were confirmed dead on arrival at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, and two more passed away during treatment. Twelve others sustained injuries, while one escaped unharmed. Rescue teams swiftly cleared the wreckage and transported the injured to the hospital. The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the FMC morgue as investigations continue.
