Your Voice Exists to Praise: Open Heavens Devotional for June 19, 2026

Date: Friday, June 19, 2026 Theme: Always Praise God Memory Verse: “Praise ye the LORD: For it is good to sing praises unto our God; For it is pleasant; and praise is comely.” – Psalm 147:1 Bible Reading: Isaiah 38:18-20 Years ago, my daughter lost her voice box to cancer. After surgery, she could only text. One day, she rolled on the ground to greet me and said, “Daddy, I can speak again.” I praised God that her voice was restored. God gave you a voice so you can praise Him every day. Like King Hezekiah, who cried out in worship and received healing, your praise silences the enemy and moves heaven. Key Point: Your primary purpose is to use your voice to worship God. Prayer Points: • Thank God for life and the privilege of praise. • Ask for mercy when your voice has grumbled instead of worshipping. • Pray that your first response to every circumstance is a song of praise. • Trust God to restore lost voices and renew your spirit as you worship.

It's interesting that the devotional highlights a personal loss of voice yet encourages communal singing as a form of praise.

I'm not convinced that praise alone heals all wounds; sometimes actions and care might speak louder than songs.

Maybe we could start a small group to practice daily praise sessions and share how each of us experiences God's comfort.
