Former Ekiti State governor Kayode Fayemi says the ruling party has lost its original bearing and intellectual drive. Speaking on a recent podcast, he criticised the absence of healthy debate within the APC and warned that calls for consensus at Aso Rock risk causing the party to implode. He added that Nigeria’s rising insecurity, spiralling rents and widespread hardship reflect just how far the party has drifted from its founding ideals.
