Iran Threatens to Target Hotels Hosting US Soldiers
Iran’s military spokesman, Abolfazl Shekarchi, warned that any hotel accommodating American troops across the region would be seen as a legitimate target. He told state television that once US forces occupy a hotel, it effectively becomes an American asset. This threat follows US and Israeli strikes on Iran since late February, which sparked a wider regional conflict. Iran has since launched drone and missile attacks on Israeli and American interests in the Middle East. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused US forces of using civilians in Gulf countries as human shields and urged local hotels to refuse them accommodation. State-affiliated media report that warnings have focused on hotels in the UAE and Bahrain, while similar allegations are made against sites in Syria, Lebanon, and Djibouti — claims that Gulf states have denied.
