Super Falcons Ready to Face Senegal in Ikenne Friendlies
Reigning champions Nigeria have a full squad at their Women Africa Cup of Nations preparation camp as Senegal’s Lionesses touched down in Ikenne-Remo on Tuesday night. The first friendly kicks off this Friday at 4pm at the Remo Stars Sports Complex, with the return leg scheduled for Monday in a two-legged test ahead of AFCON. Head Coach Justine Madugu has drafted Israel-based midfielder Josephine Matthias into camp after Halimat Ayinde’s withdrawal. Forward Gift Monday arrived in camp by Wednesday evening. The 23-player roster blends experience with emerging talent. Stars like Asisat Oshoala, Francisca Ordega, Ngozi Okobi and Chiamaka Nnadozie join young prospects such as Rofiat Imuran and Blessing Nkor. Nigeria will later line up against Egypt, Zambia and debutants Malawi in Group C of this year’s tournament, which also doubles as World Cup qualifying.
