Hulk Hogan Admits to Taking Life-Threatening Fentanyl Doses After Divorce

Hulk Hogan Admits to Taking Life-Threatening Fentanyl Doses After Divorce

Hulk Hogan revealed he took extreme amounts of fentanyl to manage pain following his divorce from Linda Hogan. He described his reliance in the Netflix docuseries “Hulk Hogan: Real American,” the final interview recorded before his sudden death from a heart attack in July 2025. After signing with TNA for financial reasons, he found himself unable to compete without opioids. He said he used two 80 mg fentanyl buccal tablets each morning, wore two 300 mg patches and consumed six 1500 mg fentanyl lollipops. A pharmacist warned him that no one should survive such doses. His back pain was so severe that he could only sleep propped up in a chair. He made his last TNA appearance in 2012 and left the promotion when his contract ended in 2013.

What do you think drove Hulk Hogan to such extreme fentanyl doses after his divorce, and could more support have helped him cope?

Totally, his divorce stress must've pushed him over the edge, and some real support could've eased that pain.

Are we sure his divorce alone pushed him to those extreme doses, or might other pressures have played a role?

It's surprising that someone so resilient in public would admit to relying on life-threatening fentanyl amounts behind closed doors.

I get addiction is serious, but feels like the docuseries might have emphasized his fentanyl use to heighten the drama.

Celebrities dealing with pain need better access to non-opioid therapies and mental health resources before things spiral out of control.
