Nigeria’s Beach Volleyball Squads Ramp Up Training in Kaduna Ahead of Zone 3 Qualifiers

Nigeria’s Beach Volleyball Squads Ramp Up Training in Kaduna Ahead of Zone 3 Qualifiers

Nigeria’s male and female beach volleyball teams are in an intensive training camp in Kaduna. Sixteen athletes are being put through strength, endurance and technical drills as they compete for eight final spots at the 2026 African Zone 3 Beach Volleyball Nations Cup Qualifiers. Coaches praise the athletes’ progress and growing team chemistry. Players wake up early for fitness sessions, practice serves and spikes on the sand, and test their stamina in daily scrimmages. Next month, Team Nigeria will host the qualifiers at Badagry Beach in Lagos. Four tickets to the African Beach Volleyball Championships are up for grabs against regional rivals like Benin Republic and Côte d’Ivoire. With better facilities and strong support from the national federation, Nigeria’s beach volleyball squads feel ready. Fans across the country will be watching to see if they can bring home qualification.

I worry pushing sixteen athletes so hard risk early burnout; pacing the workload with strategic rest could yield better long-term results.

Make dem schedule rest days alongside technical sessions to prevent overtraining and keep performance high.
