Lagos Court Jails Man for 2 Years, 1 Month for Stealing Date's iPhone
A Lagos State Special Offences Mobile Court has sentenced 37-year-old Jeriq Enejo to two years and one month in prison for stealing an iPhone XS Max valued at ₦350,000 from a woman he met online. The prosecution said Enejo invited the woman to a hotel under the guise of a date, then stole her phone. During interrogation, he reportedly admitted selling it to an unidentified roadside buyer for ₦45,000. He pleaded guilty to charges of breach of peace and stealing. The court imposed one month for breach of peace and two years for stealing, with the sentences to run consecutively. The magistrate noted that Enejo admitted it was his second similar offence.
