NHS and RSUTH Host 2026 Hypertension Conference & AGM in Port Harcourt
The Nigerian Hypertension Society joined forces with Rivers State University Teaching Hospital to launch its 2026 Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting on June 22 at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port Harcourt. In his welcome address, RSUTH’s Chief Medical Director highlighted recent advances in preventing and managing hypertension. Guests praised the hospital’s reforms and leadership, including contributions from the state governor and deputy governor. A keynote memorial lecture traced six decades of hypertension research in Nigeria and outlined future directions. The day also featured awards for professionals, schools, and students, recognizing excellence in healthcare, education, and public service. The opening day closed with a vote of thanks from the local organizing committee, acknowledging all participants and partners for their support.
