APC Bars 24-Year Rep Wole Oke from Obokun-Oriade Primary Over Zoning Dispute
The APC Screening Committee has ruled Wole Oke ineligible for the Obokun-Oriade Federal Constituency primary. Despite serving 24 consecutive years in the House of Representatives, he lost out due to zoning rules favoring candidates from Oriade Local Government Area. Oke first won his seat under the PDP before defecting to the APC in 2025. Although he aimed for a seventh term, the party decided to rotate the ticket within the constituency. He remains influential in Osun politics and was recently named Director-General of the APC’s campaign team for the August 15, 2026 governorship election. In that contest, APC’s Bola Oyebamiji will challenge incumbent Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party for a second term.
