Diesel Price Surge from Middle East Conflict Exposes Tinubu’s Failure
The Israel–US vs. Iran tensions have driven diesel prices sky-high worldwide. Since the conflict began, diesel is up 81.6% in the Philippines, 78.3% in Nigeria, 57.9% in Malaysia, 41.2% in the USA and 30.9% in Germany. Yet major oil producers like Russia saw only a 0.5% rise, and India and Saudi Arabia saw no change. As a crude-oil nation with one of the world’s largest refineries, Nigeria should be shielded from these shocks. The steep 78.3% increase reveals serious policy gaps under President Tinubu’s watch. This is deeply concerning.
