US Introduces $750 Premium Fast-Track for B1/B2 Visa Interviews

US Introduces $750 Premium Fast-Track for B1/B2 Visa Interviews

The US State Department will pilot a premium interview service for B1 and B2 visa applicants from July 1 to December 31. Applicants can pay an additional $750 on top of the standard application fee to secure an interview within 10 days at select embassies and consulates. Those who book a slot will have 5–10 minutes to complete payment before it is released to other applicants. The department expects about 25,705 travelers to use the option, generating roughly $19.3m. Note: this service speeds up scheduling only and does not guarantee visa approval.

This pilot sounds convenient, but it might favor applicants with deeper pockets over those who need the visa urgently.
