Ijebu-Ode Welcomes Smooth Travel as Governor Abiodun Opens Rebuilt Tam-Balogun and Luba/Stadium Roads

Ijebu-Ode Welcomes Smooth Travel as Governor Abiodun Opens Rebuilt Tam-Balogun and Luba/Stadium Roads

Residents of Ijebu-Ode turned out in large numbers to witness the commissioning of the reconstructed Tam-Balogun and Luba/Stadium roads by Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun. They praised the projects for restoring hope, improving mobility and boosting economic activities in the rapidly growing town. Local officials, traditional rulers, market women, transport operators and artisans gathered to mark a new phase of infrastructural development. The Ijebu-Ode Local Government Chairman described the roads as critical economic arteries that would facilitate commerce and promote socio-economic growth. Engineers confirmed the works were completed to approved standards, with modern drainage systems and safety features. Traders and transport workers said the improved routes have reduced vehicle maintenance costs, eased movement during rainy seasons and attracted more visitors and investors to the area. The commissioning aligns with the Ogun State Government’s broader agenda to bridge infrastructure gaps and create an enabling environment for community development and sustainable growth.

What evidence is there that the Tam-Balogun and Luba/Stadium road works will actually cut travel times?

The big turnout looked positive, but previous road deals here often paused before completing drainage works under heavy rain.

Seems sturdy now, but we've watched fresh roads sag into potholes faster than it took to cut ribbons.

Local councils could set up regular patrols to spot early road cracks and coordinate quick repairs before major damage occurs.
