Tinubu Approves Federal Civil Service Jobs for 3,252 Verified PTA Teachers

President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 3,252 verified Parent-Teacher Association teachers into the Federal Civil Service, according to the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa. The teachers will be drawn from Federal Unity Colleges and Federal Technical Colleges, where many have worked for between 10 and 25 years without permanent appointments. They were verified by an inter-ministerial committee and include Education Officers, Assistant Education Officers and Technical Instructors. The government says the move will reduce staffing gaps, improve teacher-to-student ratios and ease the burden on parents who have funded PTA teachers for years. The Ministry of Education says outstanding statutory procedures will be completed before final appointment letters are issued.
