Man Travels From Lagos to Kaduna for a Date, Then Gets Sent Home Same Day

I am not sure how true this Facebook story is, but it raised an interesting question. A man travelled from Lagos to Kaduna after a woman he met online invited him to spend two weeks with her. He had only transport fare, so she offered to host him because she said she lived alone. After he arrived, showered and settled in, the woman whose apartment it was returned because her trip was cancelled. His host then admitted that she lived with her boyfriend and asked him to leave. She took him back to the motor park that evening, and he returned to Lagos the next day. People found the story funny, but would the reaction have been different if a woman had travelled to meet a man and was sent home the same day? What would you do in this situation?
