Lewandowski and Torres Propel Barcelona Closer to LaLiga Title with 2-1 Win at Osasuna

Lewandowski and Torres Propel Barcelona Closer to LaLiga Title with 2-1 Win at Osasuna

Barcelona edged a tough contest at El Sadar, thanks to second-half strikes from Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. The victory puts them on the brink of a 29th LaLiga crown ahead of next weekend’s El Clásico. Osasuna offered a fierce challenge, frustrating the visitors for most of the match and carving out the better first-half chances. Ante Budimir even rattled the post before the break and Barça keeper Joan García made key saves to keep the score level. The breakthrough came after 80 minutes. A superb cross found Lewandowski, whose header beat Sergio Herrera. Minutes later, Torres slotted home after a defence-splitting pass. Osasuna pulled one back through Raúl García, but Barça held on for a vital 2-1 win.

Osasuna's aggressive press really unsettled Barcelona before the second-half goals, though their finishing ultimately made the difference.

I'm not convinced Barcelona will sail to the title just yet; consistency in defence remains a worry even after that win.

Barcelona should focus on maintaining pressure and quick transitions to capitalise on any defensive lapses from opposing teams in upcoming fixtures.
