1 / 4

A young couple in Calabar died after inhaling carbon monoxide fumes from a generator left running indoors during a power outage at their Poultry Farm Road apartment in Calabar South. Neighbours found the couple and their newly bought puppy lifeless the next morning. The bodies were taken to the mortuary, and the puppy was buried by neighbours in the compound. A candlelight procession was held for the woman on July 2. She will be laid to rest at Hawkins cemetery on July 3, while the man was buried last Friday.
