Tinubu Directs Ministries to Cushion Nigerians from Rising Fuel Costs Amid Middle East Crisis

Tinubu Directs Ministries to Cushion Nigerians from Rising Fuel Costs Amid Middle East Crisis

President Bola Tinubu has acknowledged the sharp increase in petrol prices resulting from the Middle East crisis. He has instructed economic ministers to develop relief measures for households and businesses. Speaking at a civic reception in Yenagoa after inaugurating projects by Governor Douye Diri, the President urged the Ministries of Finance, Budget and the Head of Service to review the numbers and propose steps to ease the burden. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to translating governance into roads, bridges, power, jobs and real opportunities that improve lives. Mr. Tinubu also commissioned key projects – a 60MW gas‐fired power plant in Elebele, a 630m Angiama–Oporoma Bridge and a new Yenagoa city road – highlighting the impact of federal‐state collaboration.
