Jane Southwick and her twin brother, Bill Abbott, have celebrated their 100th birthday after a lifetime shaped by close family ties, travel and resilience. Born in Hawaii on April 8, 1926, the twins grew up between Hawaii, mainland United States and Canada before building their own families and careers. The siblings have lived through war, illness and personal loss. Jane survived breast cancer and later developed pulmonary problems, while Bill recovered from a heart attack and manages kidney issues. Their family says strong medical care and the support of children, grandchildren and relatives have helped them through difficult periods. They believe longevity runs in the family, as both parents lived into their mid-90s and their older brother lived to almost 103. The twins also credit staying active, avoiding smoking and heavy drinking, and maintaining strong family connections. They recently marked their centenary with loved ones at a large family celebration.
