The Oluwo of Iwoland donated ₦2 million to the Association of Yoruba Language Scholars. He urged the Federal Ministry of Education to boost funding for indigenous languages. Describing Yoruba as one of Africa’s richest languages, he called for new policies to promote knowledge acquisition through local languages. He also highlighted a shortage of qualified Yoruba teachers across institutions. The donation will support research to develop Yoruba terminology for modern objects and concepts.
