Benue Police Arrest Eight More Suspects, Including 80-Year-Old, Over MACBAN Chairman’s Murder
The Benue State Police Command announced on July 11 the arrest of eight additional suspects in connection with the July 1 killing of MACBAN Chairman Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed and Yakubu Isa. Among those detained is 80-year-old Sylvester Ajonye. These arrests raise the total number of suspects to 17. According to DSP Udeme Edet, the breakthrough followed sustained intelligence gathering, detailed investigations, and coordinated tactical operations in Ohimini Local Government Area. Commissioner of Police Cletus Nwadiogbu praised the professionalism of investigators and vowed that everyone involved in the attack would face justice. The command urged residents to remain calm and continue providing credible information to support the ongoing inquiry.
