Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, led high-level meetings with defence ministers, senior officials and top manufacturers at SAHA 2026 in Istanbul. He formally invited multinational firms to establish production facilities and joint ventures in Nigeria, with a strong focus on technology transfer, local capacity building and job creation for Nigerian workers. Dr Matawalle also toured Turkish-built warships, combat helicopters and aircraft carriers to assess their capabilities and identify collaboration opportunities with the Nigerian Armed Forces. “Our aim is to transform Nigeria from a defence equipment consumer into a regional hub for manufacturing and innovation,” he said, welcoming credible investors ready to build and grow in Nigeria.
