Court Remands Three Suspects in Kitan Oyesiku Murder Probe for 60 Days
Three suspects accused of killing retired broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard have been remanded for 60 days by a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Abeokuta. The order followed an ex parte application by the Ogun State Police to allow forensic investigations and legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions. Police say forensic evidence linked a 22-year-old principal suspect and two alleged accomplices to the crime. The court granted the request to detain them at the Nigerian Correctional Service Custodial Centre, Abeokuta. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police public relations officer, emphasised that the remand is part of due legal process. He urged residents to provide credible information to support the ongoing probe. Family members present at the hearing expressed hope that justice will prevail. The case resumes in 60 days when the DPP issues legal advice.
