ESUT Delegation Secures Qatari Support for AI Initiative in Doha
The management of Enugu State University of Science and Technology is on an academic and strategic visit to Qatar. They held talks with Sheikh Mansoor bin Khalifa Al Thani to explore support for their planned artificial intelligence initiative. Qatar’s royal pledged to back ESUT’s AI plans as the delegation prepares engagements with Qatar University and Meeza Data Centre. These partnerships aim to drive digital transformation and capacity building back on campus. The team also toured Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, inspecting research centres, digital libraries, and innovation facilities. They analysed best practices in ICT education and hands-on learning environments. Discussions focused on collaboration models that could strengthen ESUT’s proposed Centre for Artificial Intelligence Studies, Research and Innovation. The visit underscores the university’s push to lead in emerging technologies through global partnerships.
