Small Business Owners: Stop Chasing Customers Who Waste Your Time
One of the toughest lessons I have learnt in business is that not every customer is the right customer. When I was trying to grow, I felt pressured to chase every enquiry, reduce my price at every complaint and keep following up on people who were not serious. Some buyers can consume hours of your time just to save a small amount. They ask endless questions, compare multiple sellers and still disappear. Meanwhile, you may be overlooking customers who understand the value of your product, respect your time and are ready to pay. The right customers are not only those who pay the highest price. They pay as promised, value quality, return for more business and refer others. Focusing on them helps you protect your profit and build a more sustainable business. Have you ever spent so much time on a difficult customer that you wished you had walked away from the deal?
