Chukwuma Secures Silver in Women’s 200m at ASAC 2026
Nigeria’s Rosemary Chukwuma claimed the silver medal in the women’s 200 metres final at the African Athletics Championships in Accra. She finished in 23.60s, coming second to Côte d’Ivoire’s Maboundou Kone, who won gold in 23.36s. This adds to Chukwuma’s medal tally of three at the championships after her gold in the 4×100m relay and silver in the 100m. In the men’s 200m final, Chidi Okezie placed sixth. Côte d’Ivoire’s Cheickna Traore took gold in 20.32s, Botswana’s Phaezel Prince Selepe earned silver, and South Africa’s Mihlali Xotyeni grabbed bronze.
