French Prosecutors Seek Prison Terms Over Attack on Super Eagles Star Terem Moffi

French prosecutors have requested prison sentences for two former OGC Nice ultras accused of helping to orchestrate the confrontation involving Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi and Jérémie Boga in November 2025. More than 200 supporters reportedly gathered outside Nice's training ground after the club's 3-1 defeat to Lorient. The defendants are alleged to have boarded the team bus and assured the players that it was safe to step out. Moffi and Boga were allegedly singled out, abused, spat on and violently jostled by members of the crowd. Prosecutors say the two men created the conditions for what they described as a premeditated ambush, though neither is accused of physically attacking the players. The Nice criminal court is expected to give its verdict on September 11. Prosecutors are seeking sentences of up to two years, including prison time, for the accused.
