Lagos CP Warns Task Force Against Human Rights Abuses
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has issued a stern warning to task force members over any human rights violations. Speaking at the Ikeja command headquarters, he addressed concerns sparked by a viral video showing a traffic offender’s arrest. Jimoh defended the officers’ actions, saying the suspect was handled according to legal procedures. He explained that the driver was taken before a mobile court, where charges were read and bail was granted. The individual was only remanded after failing to meet bail conditions. While backing officers who follow protocol, Jimoh made it clear that any proven misconduct would be met with strict sanctions.
