Teacher’s Hand Severed by Motorcycle Robbers in Kano

Suspected motorcycle robbers attacked a teacher, Isah Salkana, on April 9, 2026 along Funkuyi road in Buran district, Bunkure LGA. They tried to shoot him and when their gun misfired, they used a machete to cut off his hand. The victim had intervened to save another man, Malam Sauwanu Hadi, whose motorcycle and phone were being stolen. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition. The Rano Emirate Council reported the incident to the Emir, who described the attack as disturbing. He urged security agencies to investigate and approved a donation of ₦100,000 to help with medical treatment. Community leaders were also asked to step up efforts to curb crime in the area.
