Soldiers Free 53 Civilians After Clearing Terrorist Roadblock in Borno
Operation HADIN KAI troops dismantled a suspected ISWAP/JAS roadblock on the Buratai-Kamuya highway in Biu LGA on June 24. A Quick Reaction Force moved in after surveillance cameras detected insurgents blocking the road. The soldiers engaged fighters near Mangari-Dora, forcing them to flee in confusion. Troops rescued 53 civilians, recovered eight vehicles and cleared the insurgents’ escape route before securing the area. All rescued persons are now in Buratai for documentation and medical checks. The Army appealed to local communities to remain vigilant and share credible intelligence. Earlier this month, troops also reported killing 27 suspected terrorists in separate operations across Borno.
