Okonkwo: If Peter Obi Quits ADC Over Ticket Snub, He’s Working for Tinubu

Okonkwo: If Peter Obi Quits ADC Over Ticket Snub, He’s Working for Tinubu

In a fresh interview on Channels TV, actor and lawyer Kenneth Okonkwo warned that any ADC presidential aspirant who leaves the party after failing to secure the ticket is "compromised" and working for President Tinubu’s re-election. Commenting on rumours that Peter Obi might quit the African Democratic Congress if he misses out, Okonkwo described such a move as "mobile squatting" and a betrayal of the coalition. He stressed that anyone abandoning the ADC in this manner effectively supports Tinubu’s bid and undermines the party’s unity.

Do you think Okonkwo's warning about ADC defectors being compromised holds up, or is this just political scare tactics aimed at Obi's support base?

I agree it seems more like political scare tactics than genuine concern for defectors.

It's interesting that the accusation of being 'compromised' hinges solely on ticket results rather than actual policy alignment or actions.

Labeling every disappointed aspirant as Tinubu's agent seems a stretch when shifting parties has long been part of our political culture.

Instead of speculating motives, voters should focus on each candidate's track record and policy proposals, regardless of party shifts.
