Ex-Power Minister Saleh Mamman’s Bail Revoked as Court Issues Arrest Warrant in N31bn Fraud Case

Ex-Power Minister Saleh Mamman’s Bail Revoked as Court Issues Arrest Warrant in N31bn Fraud Case

A Federal Capital Territory High Court has revoked the bail of former Power Minister Saleh Mamman after he failed to appear for his criminal trial. Justice Maryann Anineh issued a bench warrant for his arrest at proceedings on May 11, 2026 in Maitama. Mamman was convicted on May 7 for laundering N33.8 billion by Justice James Omotosho. He faces separate nine-count charges brought by the EFCC, including conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence involving over N31 billion. The court granted the prosecution’s request to continue the trial in Mamman’s absence under the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015. Proceedings resume on May 14, 2026, and the surety will be summoned if Mamman remains at large.
