Army Rescues Five Kidnap Victims Along Okpella–Okene Road
On May 3 at around 12:43 a.m., soldiers from the 195 Battalion responded to a distress call along the Okpella–Okene Road in Kogi State. They pursued gunmen who had attacked a vehicle and abducted five passengers. Under intense tactical pressure, the assailants abandoned the captives and fled into nearby bushland. All five victims were recovered. Two injured victims are receiving care at ENAW Dialysis Centre, while the other three have been stabilized. Security forces are continuing follow-up operations. Measures are being stepped up to secure the transit corridor and bring the suspects to justice.
