Enugu Joint DSS Operation Nets Six Notorious Suspects and Huge Arms Cache

Security agencies in Enugu State have arrested six criminals on the state’s watch list and recovered a large arsenal. The seized items include 17 AK-47 rifles, a General Purpose Machine Gun, a rocket-propelled rifle, tear-gas equipment, grenades, and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Governor Peter Mbah commended the dedication and vigilance of security personnel. He recalled past attacks that claimed officers’ lives, highlighted the bounties placed on perpetrators, and vowed that all violent criminals will be identified and brought to justice. The governor also directed property owners to vet tenants thoroughly. He warned that negligent landlords will face prosecution and that properties linked to violent crimes will be demolished. He further praised federal support for the State Police Bill and the overhaul of security training institutions.
