Voting Won’t Defeat Tinubu: Why It’s Not Enough
I keep hearing “go and vote” as if that alone will save Nigeria. Voting won’t stop Tinubu or his allies. We must be ready to risk more than our PVCs if we want real change. Every election cycle, we believe that mass turnout will break the cycle. Yet many votes are bought. INEC officials can be bribed and the courts often look the other way. We repeat the same ritual and expect different results. I’ve worked as a polling unit official and canvasser for years. I’ve seen how elections are rigged at every level. Voting itself is not the issue—our fear of real action is. If we refuse to face this truth, we’ll keep pretending ballots are enough. It’s time to decide what comes next.
