Notorious Ogun Cult Leader “Stone” Fatally Shot During Rival Clash

A former leader of the Buccaneers cult in Ogun State, known as “Stone” or “XY,” and an associate named Bayo were gunned down by suspected rival cult members on Wasimi Ake Road in Abeokuta. The Ogun Police Command clarified the incident did not occur at the Yayi Progressive Movement inauguration held at Ake Palace. According to DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, a violent confrontation broke out around 2:45 p.m. between Centenary Hall and Lotus Bank, triggering panic and gunfire before the suspects fled on foot. Stone was found with critical gunshot wounds and later confirmed dead at Ijaiye State Hospital. The police have deposited his body for post-mortem and launched an intensified manhunt. Residents are urged to stay calm, remain vigilant, and share any useful information to aid the ongoing investigation.
