COOUTH Commissions 24-Bed Ezinifite Community Hospital, Urges Local Ownership
The Chief Medical Director of COOUTH Awka has officially commissioned the renovated Ajam Community Hospital in Ezinifite, now featuring 24 modern bed spaces for male and female wards. The project was funded and executed by the Aguata Local Government Council. Dr Maureen Umeakuewulu pledged to deploy doctors and nurses for 24-hour medical coverage. She appealed to indigenes to secure the facility with a perimeter fence, solar lighting, an ambulance service and a science laboratory to help reduce maternal mortality at the grassroots. The Aguata Council Chairman also announced the enrolment of 120 elderly residents into the state health insurance scheme. Community leaders called on patriotic sons, daughters and philanthropists to contribute to further infrastructure and project needs.
