Three Knocks from Room 14
Rain poured over Surulere the night Daniel Coker moved into Crescent Lodge. The faded building sat between two aging blocks along a dimly lit street, its walls stained and its corridor lights flickering. Daniel only needed something cheap and temporary where no one knew him. The receptionist handed him a key for Room 12 without looking up. That’s when Daniel noticed Room 14 at the far end of the corridor—darker, older and almost untouched. “You don’t need to concern yourself with that room,” the receptionist warned with a tense glance. That night, Daniel barely slept. Exactly at 2:14 a.m., he heard it: three deliberate knocks coming from behind the door of Room 14.
