Gunmen Raid Enugu Catholic Church, Abduct Seminarian and Worshippers

Armed men reportedly invaded St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inoyi, Affa, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State on the morning of August 2 and abducted several worshippers, including a seminarian. Residents said the attack happened as people were arriving for church during rainfall. They said at least seven gunmen entered the premises, prompting worshippers to flee. Locals reportedly pursued the abductors but said they were unable to confront them because the gunmen were better armed. They appealed to the government to strengthen security in the community, noting that one of the victims had returned home for his father's burial.
