New Lagos CP Vows Criminals Will Find No Hiding Place

New Lagos CP Vows Criminals Will Find No Hiding Place

Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai has pledged to strengthen security in Lagos State with a focus on continuity, professionalism and integrity. He intends to build on existing frameworks using proactive, intelligence-led and technology-driven strategies. “I was part of the previous administration for about three-quarters of its tenure,” he said. “So whatever successes were recorded, I believe I contributed to them. This is not entirely new to me, but a continuation with a futuristic approach.” Fatai highlighted community-based policing, youth engagement and stronger media collaboration as key pillars. He also emphasised inter-agency cooperation and vowed zero tolerance for police brutality, stressing that operations will respect the rule of law and human rights. He called on residents to partner with the Police and report misconduct through official channels. “Security is a collective responsibility,” he added, assuring prompt response and accountability under his leadership.
