Ashimolowo Calls on Believers to Stand Up for Adeboye Amid Criticism

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo has defended Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, urging Christians not to remain silent when respected leaders face unwarranted attacks. In an Instagram post, Ashimolowo argued that critics who have not contributed to society should not degrade those who have mentored others, established churches, and influenced nations positively. He stressed that honouring great leaders while they are alive is a sacred duty. Drawing on biblical examples like King Saul’s pursuit of David and Doeg the Edomite’s betrayal, he reminded believers that opposition has always met God’s servants, yet divine vindication follows. “There comes a time when silence becomes ingratitude,” he wrote. Ashimolowo warned that societies risk losing the benefit of leaders’ wisdom if they wait until funerals to show appreciation. He called on the Church to celebrate its spiritual fathers now, not after they pass away.
