Room 13: The Forgotten Nurse Returns
Dr. Benson works late in the empty staff block of Rivers State College of Health. At 2:08 A.M. he hears deliberate knocks, a soft whisper, and then the lights die. By morning, his body is found on a stretcher, eyes frozen in terror, mud under his nails and river weed clutched on his wrist. David Okoro arrives for his first semester with a beaten traveling bag and wide-eyed excitement. When the hostel manager offers him only one vacancy, he’s thrilled—until he learns it’s Room 13. Fellow students whisper warnings: “Don’t wander at midnight,” they say. At 2:13 A.M., David wakes to silence and three knocks at his door. He finds a fresh puddle and an old staff ID card for ADA NWOSU—dated 2002. As he stares at the faded photo, the bedroom door creaks closed by itself. The smile in the picture vanishes. If you were David, would you stay in Room 13 or leave before sunset?
