Ejiofor Warns Igbo Leaders Against Justifying Violence Over Marginalisation
IPOB lead counsel Ifeanyi Ejiofor says the Igbo people have faced historical, political and economic marginalisation in Nigeria, but insists those grievances must not be used to justify violence, killings or the destruction of communities in the South-East. He warned that people should not defend or celebrate wrongdoing because those accused share their ethnic identity. According to him, justice must be based on evidence and the law, not ethnic sentiment, propaganda or social-media influence. Ejiofor called for healing and restoration in Alaigbo, urging people to distinguish a genuine demand for justice from those who exploit legitimate grievances to promote violence.
