RIYE Under-15 Athletics Circuit Kicks Off with Exciting Qualifiers in Abeokuta
The RIYE Under-15 Athletics Circuit began at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, drawing young competitors from across the Egba Zone. Eighteen schools took part in the opening rounds, including Segun Odegbami International College, Abeokuta Grammar School and Salawu Abiola Comprehensive High School. In the boys’ 100m, Adigun Noah led in 11.56 seconds, followed by Ehisanya Success, while Elekede and Adegbite Ikmot claimed the top two spots in the girls’ 100m. Adigun Noah also won the boys’ 200m, and Gogo Eunice and Adebayo David triumphed in the girls’ and boys’ 400m races. Shot put and long jump qualifiers secured their places for the grand finale on June 26. Organiser Hon. Tunde Delu praised the athletes’ enthusiasm and said the event will uncover and nurture future champions from Ogun State. Upcoming qualifiers will be held in Ilaro, Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode.
