Alpha-Beta Faces Whistleblowing Claims as Executive Is Forced to Retire
Alpha-Beta Consulting, a Lagos revenue consulting firm widely linked to President Bola Tinubu, is facing allegations of internal repression and leadership failures following the forced retirement of its General Manager and Head of Operations, Olubunmi Morenikeji. Documents and insider accounts cited in the report allege that Morenikeji was pushed out after criticising Managing Director Akin Doherty’s leadership, staff welfare policies and the firm’s failure to expand its revenue streams. Her retirement was officially attributed to her reaching age 60, but sources claim it followed anonymous emails calling for Doherty’s removal. At least four employees were also reportedly dismissed in March 2026 over alleged whistleblowing. The report further raises concerns about recruitment practices, unimplemented reform proposals, revenue leakages and claims that loyalty is being prioritised over performance at the company. The allegations have renewed scrutiny of governance at the firm and its role in Lagos State’s revenue collection ecosystem. The company and individuals named in the report should be given an opportunity to respond to the claims.
