Group Praises Ribadu, Oluyede as Nigeria Deepens US Counter-Terrorism Cooperation

The Centre for Social Justice, Equity and Transparency has praised National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Defence Staff Olufemi Oluyede and the Federal Government over efforts to improve Nigeria’s counter-terrorism response. The group cited the recent US-Nigeria Joint Working Group meeting in Washington, where both countries discussed protection for vulnerable communities, stronger judicial and security institutions, intelligence sharing and military cooperation. The Nigerian delegation was led by Ribadu. It also pointed to ongoing terrorism prosecutions and recent military operations that reportedly neutralised suspects, led to arrests and rescued kidnapped civilians. The group urged the government to sustain the reforms, protect civilians and support the safe return of displaced persons to their communities.
