Atiku’s Adviser Urges Suspension of Gbajabiamila Before ICPC Probes PFIPC
Paul Ibe, media adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, says it was wrong for President Tinubu to order the ICPC to investigate the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council without suspending key officials first. He argues that allowing Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and other suspects to remain in office risks interference with the probe. The Presidency insists the PFIPC is fictitious and has given the ICPC 30 days to complete its investigation. Controversy flared after the PFIPC’s self-styled Director-General alleged he paid N600m to secure the role and accused Gbajabiamila of demanding 48 per cent of the council’s start-up grant. Ibe’s call follows similar demands from the Nigeria Democratic Congress and former sports minister Solomon Dalung.
