I Supported Desmond Elliot in 2022—Now He Calls Me His Enemy
I am Femi Ayinde Marshal, son of King Wasiu Ayinde. I serve as Special Assistant on Entrepreneurial and Skills Development to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas. I also worked as an aide to the Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. In 2022, I led a group of aspirants into a room at Gbajabiamila’s request. He asked us to discuss and ultimately support Desmond Elliot. At that point, Desmond was struggling to secure backing, so I personally introduced him and pleaded his case. We rallied support and worked tirelessly for his election. Yet today, when he sees me in Abuja, he refers to me as “my enemy.” In the photo, he is thanking a colleague who carried his campaign despite being asked to step down. I am the one in white, managing the situation room. I share this to set the record straight and show how quickly political alliances can change.
